Sales Tax

The state assesses a 6% sales tax on other goods and services but there are numerous exemptions such as food, drugs, medical, etc. The sales tax is collected by the supplier and remitted to the state on a quarterly basis.

Local counties and municipalities have the option of assessing up to a 1% local option sales tax.
